Introducing FluentU!
Since our public beta launch last month, we are excited and humbled to have welcomed thousands of new users to FluentFlix. It has been thrilling watching the feedback and support continue to roll in, and we encourage you to continue connecting with us through all of our channels (blog, twitter, facebook, site feedback).
One common thread in lots of user feedback has been that although video is the ideal medium to study Chinese, people are looking for more personalized learning experiences. We agree. In considering how to address these concerns, we came to decide it begins with our name.
Beginning today, we will be rebranding as FluentU.
FluentU is all about personalized language learning. Continuing to use the web’s best Chinese language videos as source content, we will begin incorporating new tools to offer even more personalized learning paths; it goes beyond just movies (hence no more “flix”).
We continue to believe online video is the ideal medium to study a language, and by delivering memorable, engaging experiences for users, we can offer the best online resource for studying Chinese.
While there are no immediate changes to our free public beta service, we will begin offering new tools to suggest level-appropriate videos which will interest you, better vocabulary management and review functionality, and easier social sharing capabilities.
Special thanks to our readers and users for your support over the months, and we couldn’t be more proud and excited to introduce FluentU. FluentU takes authentic videos—like music videos, movie trailers, news and inspiring talks—and turns them into personalized language learning lessons. You can try FluentU for free for 2 weeks. Check out the website or download the iOS app or Android app. P.S. Click here to take advantage of our current sale! (Expires at the end of this month.)
We have lots of updates planned in the weeks and months (and years) to come, so stay tuned!
