Mood

The infinitive is the basic form of an Italian verb since it provides information about what type of verb you are dealing with. It is also the way verbs appear in dictionaries.

The imperative is the form of a verb that is used to express a command, order, or request, as well as an invitation or suggestion.

Italian verbs are conjugated according to the subject, number, mood and tense. The mood expresses the attitude of the speaker towards the action that is being described. The Italian language has seven moods.
