Basic romantic Spanish phrases for first encounters
When someone catches your eye, you’ll want to introduce yourself and break the ice. Start off with some basic phrases like:
Spanish | English |
---|---|
¿Cómo te llamas? | What's your name? |
Mucho gusto | Nice to meet you |
¿Qué tal? | What's up? |
¿Cómo vas? | How you doin'? |
¿Te invito a tomar algo? | Can I buy you a drink? |
¿Quisieras salir conmigo? | Would you like to go out with me? |
Yo te invito. | I'll pay. |
Estoy encantado de conocerte. Estoy encantada de conocerte. | I'm delighted to meet you. |
¿Te gustaría cenar conmigo esta noche? | Would you like to have dinner with me tonight? |
In Spanish, you literally say “I invite you” to whatever it is that you’re footing the bill for. It’s a much friendlier and less financially-focused way to offer, in my opinion. Throw in a no te preocupes (don’t worry about it) for an added touch of coolness.
